iPhone Launch Day

I got up this morning and got to the AT&T store at 7AM thinking I’ll definitely make it. Well, I did end up getting an iPhone but there’s 2 major but’s:

  1. I stood in line for FOUR hours. Why? Because, as so many blogs have written already, the servers are majorly backed up.
  2. The stores couldn’t activate the iPhone in-house due to the server problems so they decided to start selling them unactivated and have us activate it at home. Well, it’s been 3 hours since getting it and I still can’t hit the servers to complete activation. That’s 3 hours without a phone–though I could use my plain ol’ phone…meh

I do still really like Apple. But seriously, though-something’s gotta change. Be a little better prepared with this stuff and stop launching everything the same day! MobileMe, firmware updates, Application Store AND the iPhone 3G? That’s too much for one company–so start using the cloud!
